Healthy People 2020

            The proposed objectives for Healthy People 2020 are available online for public review and comment.  Healthy People provides science-based, 10 year national objectives for promoting health and preventing disease.  Healthy People 2020 will reflect assessments of major risks to health and wellness, changing public health priorities, and emerging issues related to our nation's health preparedness and prevention.  The proposed objectives were developed by topic area workgroups led by various agencies within the federal government. Comments will be accepted in writing via a public comment Web site at www.healthypeople.gov/hp2020  or by emailing HP2020@hhs.gov. Comments will be accepted through December 31, 2009.
