The Society's Advocacy, Policy and Legislative (AP&L) Committee recently facilitated two meetings of the Friends of School Health (FOSH). In July, AP&L Chair, Martha Harris,facilitated an in-person meeting with member organizations at the American Psychological Association (APA).
On Friday, November 6, I had the opportunity to attend a meeting of National Education Organizations with the Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan and the Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack at the USDA in Washington, DC. The meeting was well attended by many organizations including NASBE, NSBA, ASCD, AFT, NEA, ASHA, SNA, NASSP, AASA, and others.
